Pride Fund Endorses Mark Levine and Jennifer Boysko in Virginia HD-45 and HD-86

WASHINGTON, D.C. August 24, 2017 -- Pride Fund to End Gun Violence PAC – America’s only national LGBTQ political organization focused solely on gun violence prevention – announced today its endorsement of Mark Levine in HD-45 and Jennifer Boysko in HD-86. Pride Fund endorsed these candidates for re-election based on their commitment to championing LGBTQ equality and their support of common sense gun safety reform.

“We support Levine and Boysko for re-election because of their demonstrated commitment to the shared ideals of so many Americans: equality for all citizens and a work ethic that values the voices of constituents over manipulation by the gun lobby,” said Jason Lindsay, founder and Executive Director of Pride Fund. “Both of these candidates have used their tenure in the Virginia House of Delegates to champion gun safety measures and protect members of the LGBTQ community.”

"I'm honored to have the endorsement of the Pride Fund to End Gun Violence," said Delegate Mark Levine. "As a gay man who has fought for years for common-sense gun safety laws, I'm thrilled to see the Rainbow community putting its energy into this issue and working to make Virginia safer for everybody."

"Thank you for your endorsement, Pride Fund to End Gun Violence. Virginia is for lovers - disarm hate, prevent violence,” said Delegate Jennifer Boysko.

This year in Virginia, we have an opportunity to elect leaders who will take commonsense measures to curb the toll of gun violence in our communities, and who will protect all Virginians regardless of race, gender, sexual identity, or sexual orientation. As of today, Pride Fund has endorsed 19 Democratic candidates in Virginia who support common sense gun reform and champion LGBTQ equality.

Pride Fund has thoroughly reviewed the platforms and records of Levine and Boysko to assess their commitment to protecting the rights of the LGBTQ community and improving the safety of all Virginians. These candidates represent the kind of leaders we need, who won’t prioritize the special interests of the gun lobby over the safety of the American people.
